Coinsquare Update BCH Protocol Upgrade on November 15th, 2018.

CoinGuyCoinGuy Administrator
Got this note in the mail from Coinsquare:

As you may have heard, there is a potential chain split with BCH that may come after a protocol upgrade on November 15th, 2018.

First and foremost, we are aware of the discussions. Coinsquare will recognize the longest chain with the most Proof of Work by miners as BCH, should this chain split happen; this is the procedure determined by the Nakamoto Consensus described in the original Bitcoin white paper.

In accordance with the Consensus and should the chain split happen, Coinsquare will handle all tasks associated with the coin migrations of the shortest chain to a new ticker symbol to ensure a smooth and trouble-free migration for all our users.

If this split happens, here’s what will happen for Coinsquare users who hold BCH:
* Coins associated with the longest chain will continue to be functional without interruption
* Coins associated with the shortest chain will be exchanged directly to a newly-recognized cryptocurrency once we are informed of the new coin’s ticker symbol

Exact details surrounding deposit and withdrawal changes on our platform will be provided in a timely manner as we approach the date of any potential chain split.
